The chances are pretty high that you have dealt with roof cleaning problems if you have been in the property management business for more than a few years. Roof washing can be very expensive, and it can also be very costly to clean up after the roof cleaners. Repairing the damage generated by roof cleaners is never figured in the initial calculation because you don’t anticipate damage, but it happens more often than not, but if you are aware of the potential devastation ahead of time, you can avoid it from happening, reduce the cost and headaches, and that’s what the management of property is all about.Checkout Roof Cleaning for more info.

There are many fungi that are both destructive to the roof and repulsive to look at that can settle on a roof. The bulk of matter is constituted by moss, lichen, black algae (black mould), green mold/algae and removal has become a requirement. For a number of purposes, roofs must be cleaned; to avoid destruction and early replacement, to monitor higher energy costs and to correct the devaluation of the land.

The most frequently impacted roofs are asphalt shingle, cedar shake, and tile roofs, each differently impacted.

Asphalt roofs are broken more easily than the others. Before they break and fall off, fungus may grow under shingles raising them. The fungus tendrils or “roots” often dig through the reflective granules that cause them to dislodge and fall off, resulting in shingles thinning, taking years off the shingle’s expected existence as they then curl and cup.

When a cedar roof is coated with fungi, the fungus traps moisture in the wood that causes rotting, which invites wood feeding insects, and that easily deteriorates the integrity of the wood. Cedar roofs need to stay dry to last.

Tile roofs are most commonly found in the south and while fungus can not kill tiles like asphalt or wood, tiles are broken by the weight roof cleaners walking on the roof, tiles are fragile, particularly after years of baking in the sun, the damage is not evident at first, but they will be dislodged and fall off as the cracks wash out with rain water.
