A dermatologist is a medical practitioner who specialises in the treatment of skin, nail and hair conditions. If you wish to learn more about this, visit check it out.

Some of these conditions include acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, moles, melanomas, and skin tumours, but they are not limited to them. Dermatologists are certificated by the American Board of Dermatology. In the United States, in order to be qualified, dermatologists have to undergo rigorous training and graduate from an accredited medical school or osteopathic school. Before they are allowed to practise dermatology, dermatologists who graduate from medical schools outside the United States are required by legislation to obtain a foreign graduate certificate. Like other medical doctors, dermatologists have been trained in emergency medicine, family practise, gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics, general surgery or internal medicine for at least one year in a residency programme for clinical training. Dermatologists are considered to be medical specialists because they are fully trained medical doctors who have received specialised training in skin condition matters. A person with a skin condition, such as eczema, psoriasis, or skin cancer, is most likely referred by his or her regular doctor to a dermatologist. A dermatologist is more appropriate for treating skin conditions or helping to manage them because of their specialised training. Dermabrasion or chemical peels, laser resurfacing, tissue augmentation, hair transplants, liposuction or sclerotherapy are often included in the treatment they provide (to treat vascular malformations). A dermatologist is also an expert in the management of skin disorders that accompany ageing, such as hair loss, skin discoloration and other changes in the skin, specially trained in the latest, most effective surgical techniques. Some even specialise in cosmetic treatments, such as injections of Botox, injections of collagen and surgery of the eyelid. Although a specialist in the treatment of skin conditions has already been considered, some dermatologists are more specialised in other treatments.
